I get to know your business, your tools, and the bodies you answer to. You bring me questions when they come up, and I keep watch in between. Software releases, regulatory letters, governance changes. When something matters to you specifically, you hear it from me before you have to ask.
What’s included, every month:
A monthly working session covering whatever’s live. Vendor decisions, proposed use cases, team questions, governance.
An open line for ad-hoc questions between sessions, by email or a short call. A considered answer within two working days, usually faster.
Ongoing vendor and software vetting as decisions come up. I’ll review proposals, sit in on pitch calls when useful, and tell you which claims to test before signing.
Quarterly training sessions for your team, on a topic you choose.
Written notes from every session, so your team has something to refer back to.
The proactive part.
Once I know what tools you run, who regulates you, and what’s at stake, I’m watching on your behalf. A vendor releases a feature that changes your risk profile, or your regulator publishes guidance nobody in the firm has read yet. You hear about it from me, with a view on whether it matters and what, if anything, to do.
In July 2026 the Prime Minister announced a new Office of AI and plans for a national framework. My clients each got a short note about it within a day or two. Most of the notes said the same thing. Nothing in this requires action from you yet, and I’ll tell you if that changes.
Some businesses would call what I do a fractional Chief AI Officer; I don’t, because the title assumes AI should sit at the centre of your business. For most firms it shouldn’t. You exist to serve your clients, and AI is now one of the things you have to get right along the way. When there’s a genuine strategic question, whether to build something, which direction to take the practice, I’ll work on it with you. What I won’t do is manufacture an AI agenda to justify a title.
Where my job stops
I don’t attend every meeting and I don’t own outcomes. Your team does. My job is to make sure the decisions they take are as well informed as they would be with a head of AI in house. I’m cheaper than hiring one and quicker than recruiting one.
It also isn’t a fixed scope project. The work shifts as your priorities shift. If what you actually have is one bounded question, the specific engagements are a better fit, and I’ll tell you so.
And you’ll get my actual opinion. If a use case is a bad idea I’ll say so. If you’re overpaying, I’ll say that too.
Pricing depends on scope and how often you need me. Book a 30-minute call and I’ll give you an honest steer on whether the retainer is the right fit, and what it would cost.
